About your stay
We’ve put together answers to some of the most common questions to help you quickly find the information you need.
Our bedrooms are located on the 2nd floor of the building and can only be accessed by stairs, so may not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility. If you would like to book a room please give us a call, we would be happy to advise.
Unfortunately, our rooms are not large enough to accommodate extra beds. Give us a call if you would like to bring a travel cot as we may have a suitable room available. Please note, we do not provide travel cots.
Our apartment is operated on a self-catering basis, equipped with a kitchenette for you to prepare meals.
The main bar and restaurant also offer lunch and dinner. The team will be happy to reserve a table for you, just let them know. Explore our full menu here.
Check-in is from 3pm. We ask guests to check out by 10am on the day of departure.
There is WiFi available throughout The Crabshell. Simply complete our sign-in form and you’ll have access to the internet.
Please note, this is not suited to extensive streaming or heavy downloads/uploads.
We permit dogs within our self-catering apartment at The Crabshell. If you are planning to bring a dog, you must ensure that you have booked the self-catering apartment and notified the site in advance of your stay.
Dog charges are £20 per dog, per stay. This charge is not included in the accommodation rate and will be added as an additional cost on top of the apartment rate.
Please note that, as we are a dog-friendly site, both the apartment and public areas may have accommodated dogs previously. Guests with allergies or sensitivities are strongly advised to notify the site directly prior to arrival. While we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment, we will always endeavour to meet individual requirements where possible.
Dogs are permitted in most public areas of The Crabshell. We politely request that dogs are kept on leads at all times in public areas and are not left unattended in the apartment during your stay.
Included in this additional rate you will find a variety of pup presents complete with tennis ball, Forthglade treats, biodegradable poo-bags and beer for you to take away with you.
All our rooms are complete with luxury toiletries, tea and coffee-making facilities, free WiFi and a hairdryer.
Please note, there is no air conditioning in the rooms.
We have our own car park with spaces for 24 cars and one set aside for disabled parking right next to the entrance. There is also ample street parking.
We do not have any EV charge points but you can find out more info here about the closest to us.
If you have booked through a third-party travel agent please refer to the agent’s specific cancellation terms. We do not pay commission on reservations to third parties without a prior formal agreement.

Discount Codes are subject to availability and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers. We reserve the right to amend or withdraw offers at any time.
Bedroom prices are per room, per night. Rates are inclusive of accommodation, breakfast and VAT. Minimum 2-night stay restrictions apply to Friday & Saturday evenings during peak times and also during the Christmas & New Year period.
You will need to provide your credit or debit card details to secure your reservation. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Maestro and Electron to secure a reservation.
Please note that full payment for your reservation will be taken between 48 hours prior to arrival and check-in. This will be debited from the credit/debit card used to secure your initial booking.
We reserve the right and you hereby authorise us to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the property during your stay (including without limitation specialist cleaning) or for any items that are missing when you leave.

We love everything about this apartment and have stayed before as the location overlooking the estuary is a picture postcard setting. Its spacious, comfortable and they provide so many little extras to make your stay easy to navigate. Such a bonus to be able to dine down a flight of stairs in the pub with fabulous food and a super atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Plus the allocated parking space. We will most certainly return again.

Superb location, excellent facilities.
The apartment is in a superb location, overlooking the river and near excellent beaches and beautiful countryside. It was clean and well equipped and the beds and furniture were very comfortable. The town of Kingsbridge has good facilities and interesting shops. The staff were friendly and very helpful.
